Review of myopia management contact lenses

Myopia management with contact lenses primarily involves correcting refractive error and blurred vision at distance. More recently, evidence has shown that contact lenses are a useful modality for controlling the progression of myopia, potentially more effective than spectacles and time outdoors.

In an invited review for the journal Clinical and Experimental Optometry, Professor Padmaja Sankaridurg, Program Leader for myopia at Brien Holden Vision Institute, discusses the current contact lens options for myopia control, the shortcomings and how performance of multifocal contact lenses might be improved.
